FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
NEW YEAR AND NEW RULES IN STUDIO 105.
First day of school equals BOORRRRRING! Six 50 minute periods of repeating the rules and procedures is beyond thrilling. Half the kids are terrified and the eighth graders are too cool to even laugh even when you know that shhh was funny. You get excited to see all of the kiddos or almost all of them. Some of those little middle school monsters bring on quite the challenge of patience and grace.
After a summer of classroom projects, my room be looking' goooood! I mean just look at those beautiful watercolor rules! Worked ridiculous hours and spent ridiculous money refinishing some tables that are as old as are school is, but they cute. Painted some old funky bookshelves and broke out the silhouette machine. And can't forget the shelves I dressed up with patterned contact paper. New room lights to create an inviting atmosphere and some essential oils tickling those little nostrils. Work work work work WORK.... I'll be posting classroom pics soon.
All that just to be prepared for Monday. Girl don't have a clue what she's teaching Tuesday! Hey, they said teaching was one of the most creative careers, I had no idea they meant creating lesson plans. BOREFEST.
Cheers to a new year! As you see my glass o wine in the photo above. I'll be needing my daily dose from here on out.
