AYRÏD BY DESIGN
I mean just look at this chick. She just demands attention when she walks into the room. This girl’s wardrobe matched her colorful personality. I still can’t get over that fact that she came to Bali for a month with only a carry-on and she had killer style. Her style matches her confidence and creative energy. And her accent…no words. She talks like vacation sounds. I’m not sure that makes any sense at all…ha.
AyrÏd is a graphic designer based out of Trinidad. She is hella talented and led one of the first workshops of the month on personal branding. I took 2 pages of notes and could not wait to put it into action. I kept thinking “Daaaamn, this girl is good. I gotta right that down.” The next day I was at Outpost for hours trying to implement everything I learned. She even gave up an hour of her time to come and give me feedback. I can’t thank her enough for all of her knowledge and advice. This girl clearly knows what she is doing. I felt like I was learning from the best. And although she doesn’t call herself an artist, she most definitely is!
One of my favorite things were the family dinners we had each week where she hosted the first one. It was UNBELIEVABLE. Homegirl was in the kitchen all afternoon like a natural chef. She delegated tasks to those who came in to help and had an incredible calmness for cooking for 23 people. I admire that more than she will ever know considering my kitchen is for dancing. She created an invitation and a menu! I mean talk about set the tone….IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. She knows exactly how to create an experience for everyone. My jaw dropped with the element of surprise she created by adding everyone’s native tongue of BON APPÉTIT! And the fooood was DELICIOUS!
One of my most loved characteristics of AyrId is her honesty. She was very honest about the balance of her personal space and if you weren’t smart enough to listen, you can’t say she didn’t warn you. She always showed up even when she didn’t feel well. Design isn’t her only talent either, the girl can sing. It just isn’t fair.
