I don't know about you, but New Years is one of my favorite times of the year aside from the summer time (because I have time freedom) and February because it includes Valentine's Day and my birthday!
Last year, I took a solo New Years Trip to Bay St. Louis and it was so refreshing and just what I needed to reset. I met an incredible couple over brunch and a Saints game and they invited me over to watch the LSU game the next day. It was a great trip and I knew I wanted to take a trip every New Years to reflect and refocus and meet some strangers while I'm at it!
So, I went back to the Bay this year! It was more of a quiet trip with New Years being in the middle of the week and also what my soul needed. I went on lots of walks, tried out a few new places, bought a Mardi Gras hat, read a new book, worked on my website and got to scribble on the pages of my brand new planner I designed myself. Pretty great feeling.
Here are a few pics from my trip...
.
I read about a tradition in Ireland where they leave their doors open at midnight to let the old year out and the new year in. Now, I'm not one to stay up for the oyster drop in the Bay or to open my doors at midnight, but I did join in leaving the door open on New Years Eve as I sat on the front porch reading the wisdom of Rachel Hollis.
It was a beautiful day.
Most people don't keep New Years Resolutions because they are HARD! And the goals might not be realistic to start. If you aren't working out AT ALL, start with something simple vs. every single day. The habit tracker that's in my planner is my guide and accountability to keep better core habits in place. Something that seems simple doesn't mean it's easy. In combination with the habit tracker, I usually put sticky notes on my mirror, desk, and nightstand to help build in the habits. I need a visual reminder to break up my normal routine.
Download your own free habit tracker here.
And if you want to level up the accountability which is something I know I need to get shhh done, join our FREE Facebook community, The Creative Climb. I would love to know what you are working on and how we can help!
On January 1st, I listened to Brendan Burchard's New Year Activation, bought his Motivation Manifesto book and joined Growthday afterwards!! I've always been a fan of his, but this elevated his energy even more and was the perfect motivation to start off the year. Looks like I've built in another tradition.
His Growthday platform is super user friendly and gives an immediate dopamine boost. You get community, challenges, workshops, Sunday growth notes and all kinds of transformational goodness. It's the perfect model for what I want to offer in the artist community.
Cheers to 2025, my friends!
